Cold Forging

Competence in cold forging

Cold forging is a forming process for metallic products. At SITEK, we produce around 450 million cold forged parts per year. The advantage of this process lies in the high cost savings compared to classic turned parts production. In addition, the forming process does not result in any material loss – and, therefore, no waste. The process is recommended for materials such as aluminum, copper, brass, bronze, stainless steels, as well as case-hardened and heat-treatable steels. We work with wire diameters from 2 to 12 mm up to a length of 120 mm – with tolerances in diameter of 0.025 mm.

Cold forging is mainly used for the production of rotationally symmetrical components such as rivets, bolts, pins or screws. At SITEK, we have constantly developed this process and are now able to efficiently manufacture even more complex, asymmetrical components. Through the targeted insertion of the smallest blind holes, we create space for the directed feeding and assembly of our carbide pins.
