Carbide production

Competency in carbide

In the field of carbide production, we at SITEK see ourselves as playing a clear pioneering role. Through our own carbide development to the finished manufacture of the end products, we offer our customers a unique service and quality ideally suited to their needs. This is also made possible by the geometry development including our own toolmaking in our SIMON Tooling division: This allows us to perfectly tailor the development process to customer requirements. We reliably check quality and materials in our internal SIMON Analytics testing laboratory, and we owe our “Made in Germany” quality standard to our state-of-the-art manufacturing methods with a high degree of automation.

  • Exclusively high-quality raw materials, tight quality standards
  • Material & formulation development tailored to the respective application
  • Development processes according to customer requirements
  • Further development of existing formulas
  • New developments of new formulations

Raw materials

  • Different grinding processes for optimum homogeneity of the powder batch and perfect microstructure
  • Own grinding balls for perfect mixing

Grinding process

  • Several spray towers for the separation of the grinding liquid with drying process
  • The result: optimally prepared pressable material with an outstanding quality level

Spray tower

  • Carbide presses with pressing force up to 120 t
  • In-house press tool production at Simon Tooling offers maximum flexibility in geometry production
  • Even complex geometries can be mapped

Carbide pressing

  • Special HIP sintering furnaces for sintering processes lasting up to 36 hours
  • Sintering at different temperature and pressure ranges
  • In-house know-how for sintering the most complex geometries with high dimensional accuracy

Sintering process

  • Permanent, multi-stage quality control system in the in-house laboratory of the preliminary and final products
  • Tests during production ensure high dimensional accuracy of the carbides
