Studs for winter tyres, tungsten carbide tipped tools, horseshoe studs, pole tips and tungsten carbide powder – these are Sitek’s product groups. The manufacturing of studs began way back in 1962 and was transferred in 1989 to Sitek, a new company specifically set up for the purpose. With its cutting edge technology, Sitek is now a market leader in stud production around the globe. The company’s own tungsten carbide production operation plays a key part in the success of Sitek products. Many of the tools we need come from the company’s own tool-making division.
The optimum quality of our products is ensured by our quality assurance procedures that run alongside the production operation. Our company is certified to DIN ISO 9001:2000, DIN EN ISO 14001 and TS ISO 16949:2002.

Studs for winter tyres are Sitek’s core area of expertise. Sitek works both with the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and after-sales markets. Many of our studs are developed in close collaboration with tyre manufacturers and thus offer optimum grip on snow and ice. By having our own in-house tungsten carbide production operation we are able to tailor the quality of the tungsten carbide to the rubber compound and ensure evenly lower wear and great durability.
The main export countries for Sitek studs are Scandinavia, North America, Russia and Eastern Europe. Today at Sitek four different high quality materials are used for stud production: steel, aluminium, sinter and polymers.

Sitek tungsten carbide tipped tools are used in ground preparation operations, for example to remove road markings, and to roughen and tidy up concrete or asphalt surfaces.
Our range has been constantly expanded and adapted to market requirements. In addition to milling blades, we thus now also make peel-milling tools, cutting wheels, tools made fully of tungsten carbide, grinding discs and other similar products.
The tungsten carbide grade specifically developed for this application and the highly durable bond between tungsten carbide and carrier surface are particular features of our tools. This guarantees Sitek tools’ very long service life.

For many years, Sitek has been supplying the horseshoe industry with tungsten carbide pins to provide anti-wear protection and to improve horseshoes’ grip on roads, off-road terrain and ice.
In 2000, we set up our own horseshoe stud production operation. Now we make drive-in studs and rectangular threaded studs in various lengths and with different kinds of thread. The hardened steel bodies combined with the tungsten carbide pins from our own production facility guarantee consistent, optimum quality and long-lasting use.
Sitek also makes horseshoe studs for cross-country riding, show jumping and harness racing. The main export countries are currently Scandinavia and the USA.

Sitek is also fully in step with the new trend of Nordic walking. Back in the 1990s, Sitek tungsten carbide pins and/or tips were already being supplied to manufacturers of various kinds of poles. Our tungsten carbide tips were used to provide additional protection against wear. Even after relatively long use on hard ground the tips show hardly any visible signs of becoming worn.
Initially Sitek pole tips were only used for trekking, skiing and hiking poles and sticks. Today, they are also used with great success in the field of Nordic walking, for Nordic blading and in summer training for cross-country skiing.
